Women of the world have long been making their mark on history with a signature of social change and feminine empowerment. That’s what Strong Women, Strong Girls believes, by helping at-risk girls in grades 3-5 build skills and self-esteem to last a lifetime.
College undergraduates volunteer for this unique after-school program, becoming both leaders and friends to the younger girls. There is also a mutual cycle of positive growth in this effort. Through this relationship the mentors grow, and with their growth comes even more benefits to the younger generation. Out of these dynamics a community of determined women emerges that can break negative cycles and create tangible hope through action. Providing role models, shaping skills, and strengthening the ties between all women, Strong Women, Strong Girls is an admirable organization that needs the support and participation of women everywhere to realize its full potential.
