The Trans-nzoia Youth Sports Association (TYSA) is a truly dynamic organization. It offers the youth of Kenya an opportunity to experience the character building joy and personal development of being on a sports team, while simultaneously offering recreational activities, educational services, and life skills training. While these services are invaluable to the youth, TYSA also offers orphaned teenage mothers the chance to get an education, develop their careers, and thus support their children and families through legitimate societal means.
There are many grave problems facing present day Kenyans that require immediate assistance and intervention. With half of the population unemployed and below the poverty line, prostitution, drug addiction, and dropout rates are on the rise among the youth. With little to occupy their time, they are turning to negative outlets to make money and entertain themselves. Through your participation, the positive power of sports can give them pride and motivation, while their parents are assisted economically, preventing them from having to seek illegitimate ways to support their families.
Thanks to the project, 150 orphaned teenage mothers get the education they need to develop their careers, and countless children are inspired and educated to achieve more with their life. Participate in this positive Kenyan revolution now, while so much can still be done.
